LOCATION: Hyndland, Glasgow

TYPE: Internal Alterations

YEAR COMPLETED: 2020

AREA: 22sqm

The project entails the formation of a new kitchen-dining area. The original kitchen was enclosed in a narrow space and a partition wall, formed in line with a mullion of the window, reduced the actual window opening.

The remodelled space reinstates the integrity of the window and allows the installation of a kitchen island. Due to the limited space we came up with a bespoke solution to take advantage of the recessed space at each side of the chimney breast. A feature wall made of ash timber elements, frames around the original chimney and integrates the larder units with a consistent style.

Enamel tiles used in both the kitchen splashback and the feature wall complete the overall design and add a distinctive touch to the remodelled space.
